Artist Biography
Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern der Thrash-Metal-Band Flotsam and Jetsam gehört der spätere Metallica-Bassist Jason Newsted. Ihr 1986 erschienenes Debütalbum Doomsday for the Deceiver zeigte auch deutliche Spuren von Metallica, und bald darauf wechselte Newsted dorthin. Viele weitere Besetzungswechsel folgten, konstant blieb nur Sänger Eric A.K. Die Band veröffentlichte regelmäßig weitere Alben wie No Place for Disgrace (1988) oder Cuatro (1992). Weil Thrash Metal in den Neunzigern aus der Mode gekommen war, änderte sich der Stil der Band auch entsprechend. Zum Jahrtausendwechsel legte die Gruppe einige Jahre Pause ein, kehrte aber bald zurück und festigte mit Auftritten und neuen Thrash-Alben wie The Cold (2010), Ugly Noise (2012), The End of Chaos (2019, #19 in Deutschland) oder Blood in the Water (2021, #9) ihren Ruf in der Szene.
