Die Schauspielerin und Sängerin Sofia Carson wurde als Disney-Protegé bekannt. Geboren wurde sie 1993 in Florida, mit drei nahm sie bereits Tanzunterricht, 2001 stand sie als Dorothy im Zauberer von Oz auf der Bühne. 2014 war sie in der Disney-Serie Austin & Ally zu sehen, dann wurde sie mit dem Film The Descendants (2015) und seinen zwei Fortsetzungen bekannt und war auch auf den Soundtrack-Alben zu hören. Neben weiteren Film- und Serienrollen tauchte sie auch auf Singles von J Balvin ("Love Is the Name") und Alan Walker ("A Different World") auf. Nach mehreren eigenen Singles veröffentlichte Carson 2021 ihre Debüt-EP Leave Your Heart on the Dance Floor, 2022 folgte ihr selbstbetiteltes Dance-Pop-Debütalbum. 2022 spielte sie in dem Netflix-Film Purple Hearts eine erfolglose Singer/Songwriterin und nahm dazu auch ein Soundtrack-Album auf.
